The new research project is launching on Skopelos

The new research project, Ancient Skopelos Survey (ASkoS), is launching on Skopelos through a collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and the Polish Archaeological Institute at Athens. The Ephorate of Antiquities of Magnesia is participating with Dr. Anthi Batziou, Co-director of the project, along with archaeologists: Iakovos Georgiou, MSc, and Dimitris Agnousiotis, MSc.

Under the auspices of the Polish Archaeological Institute at Athens, three academic institutions are involved: The University of Warsaw, represented by Prof. Agata Ulanowska, Co-director of the project; the Charles University in Prague, represented by Prof. Peter Pavúk; and the University of Heidelberg, represented by Dr. Filip Franković.

Students and researchers from these institutions will also contribute to the project.

The official presentation of the project took place on Tuesday, September 24, at 19:00, at the “Orfea” cinema on Skopelos. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration and are optimistic about the significant findings ahead!
