On February 8, 2024, a lecture by Prof. Krystyna Bartol (Institute of Classical Philology, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań), member of the Academic Board of PAIA, entitled “The Cave and the Fishpond: Poetic Use of Two Objects of Archaeological Interest in Oppian’s Poem on Fishing (Halieutica)”, took place at the headquarters of the Polish Archaeological Institute at Athens. The lecture was very popular. It was also a unique opportunity to meet for our members currently doing their research in Athens. We are glad that we could host at PAIA: Prof. Sebastian Borowicz (Jagiellonian University in Cracow), Dr. Agnieszka Wojciechowska (University of Wrocław), Ph.D. student Kamila Niziołek (Jagiellonian University in Cracow) and Ph.D. student Michał Michalik (Jagiellonian University in Cracow). We were also very pleased to host Prof. Lucia Athanassaki (University of Crete) and Prof. Ewen Bowie (University of Oxford, Professor Emeritus), as well as Dr. Costas Chatzithomas (Agricultural University of Athens).
