The Summer School of the University of Wrocław on Crete began on April 4th and it lasted until April 11th! It was organized by Dr. Dominika Grzesik, Prof. Adam Pałuchowski and Dr. Piotr Głogowski with a collaboration with the Polish Archaeological Institute at Athens, as part of the Erasmus+ program. The participants spent the first two days in Chania, visiting local museums. On the third day, they took a trip to the ancient sites of Aptera and Eleftherna, the Arkadi monasteries and necropolis in Armenia. Then, the Summer School moved for four days to Heraklin. The participants visited Minoan palaces in Knossos, Malia, Phaistos and Agia Triada, the ancient settlements of Gournia and Azoria, and the historic Gortyn. They delved into Cretan religion and Minoan-Mycenaean art at the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, and admired Byzantine mosaics while discussing Crete during the WWII at the Historical Museum.
