Between 11 and 15 February 2026, a delegation representing the authorities of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań visited Athens. The delegation comprised Prof. Piotr Pawluć, Vice-Rector of the University; Dr Aleksandra Bocheńska, Head of the University’s Organisational and Legal Office; and Prof. Violetta Patroniak of the Faculty of Chemistry. The principal aim of the visit was to familiarise the delegation with the specific character of the Institute’s activities on site in Athens. Two official meetings constituted the key elements of the programme.
On 12 February, the delegation met at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Athens with Wojciech Ponikiewski, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy, and Ms Justyna Słowik, Head of the Scientific Cooperation Unit. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Ewdoksia Papuci-Władyka (Jagiellonian University / University of Warsaw), Deputy Director of PAIA, and the Director of the Institute, Prof. Janusz Czebreszuk. The discussion focused primarily on the implementation of the provisions of the Letter of Intent concerning cooperation between the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and PAIA in the promotion of Polish scholarship and culture in Greece. The document was signed in 2021 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and has recently been extended for subsequent years.
On Friday, 13 February, a meeting was held at the headquarters of PAIA between the members of the delegation and the Institute’s staff and management, namely Beata Kukiel-Vraila, MA, Mateusz Kula, MA, Prof. Ewdoksia Papuci-Władyka, and Prof. Janusz Czebreszuk. The Institute’s representatives first presented the premises, outlined the history of its establishment, introduced its principal statutory objectives, reviewed its current activities, and presented plans for future development. The Vice-Rector, together with the other members of the delegation, also raised a number of questions concerning various aspects of the Institute’s work.
